The cooperation between NDB and LDA is now finalised! Print E-mail
During the forthcoming Dutch Open the LDA will be there with a presentation of its results of its activities and achievements so far. The statutes have been composed and have been approved, and agreement and acceptance will soon be passed. As from the Dutch Open the LDA will set up its own ranking system and the new WDF-ranking will work in conjunction with this. This ranking will get closer to completion with some other lucrative tournaments, like, for example, the Antwerp Open on 14 April. This event, celebrating its 20th anniversary, has for the coming tournament a stipulation that the prize money for the ladies will be in line with the mens.

Therefore the last 128 ladies will receive prize money. The LDA will grant its status to this event, ranking points for the LDA will therefore be given. In accordance with new Wdf guidelines this event will be an LDA ranking category 1 tournament. Other events to be added to the LDA ranking are currently being considered by the LDA committee.

The LDA would also like to expand these types of lucrative tournaments overseas. There, of course, must be certain criteria. Prize money for example, a minimum of €4,000.00 with a first place prize of €1500 and proportional payment for the lower places.

At this moment the LDA has 135 playing members, candidate members, and no fewer than 40 sympathising men; the so-called Buddies. Of course there is room for many more playing members. With the registration money the LDA can become an official body (Association), whereupon the determination of the annual contribution and the registration of the real members can start . A meeting is planned for 20 April 2007 between 20.00 and 22.00 during the German Open. All candidate members are invited to be present to learn how the LDA will go further. Of course there will be time for a question and answer session and any observations.
